An enchanting setting with a rich history
Le Pigeonnier du Perron is not a simple hotel. It is a secular place, whose origin goes back to the 15th century. A former noble fief, it gave its owner the title of "Lord".
The name pigeon house refers to the nests built for the birds and preserved to this day. Called boulins, their number gave an indication of the total size of the property. Numbering 600 at Le Perron, the boulins are the historical evidence of a vast estate associated with the seigneurial house.
Among the famous names, René Descartes was the owner of the building in the early 17th century. Since 1852, the same family has passed the Pigeonnier du Perron from generation to generation. Renovation work was undertaken in 1998 to make it the hotel it is today, open since 2001.
