Why come to Darcey Presbytery? >

3 comfortable and welcoming guest rooms

Discover 3 comfortable rooms in this 1869 building. Decorated with natural flour-based paint, laid down using collage and stencil techniques, each space offers you a unique atmosphere, with a private bathroom and an office space. Discover :

  • La Douix. For 2 or 3 people, let yourself be seduced by the pretty handmade wall decoration, sit in the rocking chair with a good book and admire the soothing view of the village church through the window ;
  • La Bussaie. This bright and charming room with its trompe l'oeil moldings offers a beautiful view of the countryside and garden;
  • Les Herbiers. This small room has a unique atmosphere with walls decorated with reproductions of Gherardo Cibo's herbarium.

Common areas for dining and rest

When you leave your room, head to the lounge, the ideal place to relax. You will find a library and perhaps the next favorite book of your vacation.

Is the sun shining? Then head to the garden, which is open to all. Stroll through the vegetable garden, sit in the sun or let your desires speak for themselves and lie down in the grass.

At breakfast or dinner time, you can eat in the dining room. In the evening, Olivier and Emmanuel welcome you with a vegetarian table d'hôtes. Meals are prepared with local and organic products, such as Luc's vegetables, Hélène's goat cheese, wines from Domaine de la Luolle or Domaine Aurélien Febvre, as well as eggs from the presbytery's chickens.

In the morning, a tasty breakfast awaits you. Enjoy bread, cinnamon rolls, scones, pastries and yoghurts, all home-made.

Enjoy the historical riches of Burgundy

Burgundy is a great destination for history buffs. At the Presbytère de Darcey, you're staying with a 17th and 18th century art lover, so ask Olivier to help you plan your visits.

Discover the local historical treasures, such as

  • The Castle of Bussy-Rabutin and its surprising visit;
  • The Great Forge of Buffon, to learn more about the work of the naturalist;
  • The visit of Semur-en-Auxois. This medieval town promises a trip back in time, notably through the village keep and the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame;
  • The atmosphere of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain. Artists, wool producers and farmers live in this lively and pleasant village. Visit the Anis de Flavigny to learn all the secrets of making the little aniseed sweets. Very well preserved, it was used as a printing house after the Revolution and offers a nice insight into the life of the monks. Take the time to admire the magnificent cloister, conducive to meditation and reconnection to oneself.
